Trying to keep up
In the past week Ashley has become a much better crawler, here is some video of her in action. She is now completely pulling herself up to a standing position and seems to really want to walk. I think she is trying to keep up with her sister. I was eager for Ella to walk but am very happy for Ashley to stay crawling for awhile. I had forgotten how different things become once these little ones become mobile!

We found some snow!
We have been telling Ella all winter that we were going to take her sledding. We were sure that we would get hit with some winter blast and be able to take her somewhere local but the snow just hasn't made the appearance we had hoped for. So we decided if the snow wasn't going to come to us we would have to go find it ourselves. My mom offered to come and stay with Ashley so Bernie and I picked up Ella from preschool and headed to Crystal Mountain. Ella had a great time playing in the snow. Dad taught her the proper way to throw a snowball and I helped her with her snow angels and we all did some sledding. It was a fun afternoon and great to spend some special one on one time with our baby girl. We stopped and had dinner on the way home and when I asked Ella if we should call and check on Ashley she said, "no she's fine she's with Mammy!" I think she really enjoyed having mom and dad all to herself!
Dad determined to snowboard this season one way or another!
Ella was all kisses and hugs...I think she had a good time!
Cupcakes and Smiles
For a fun family outing we decided to venture downtown to Hello Cupcake and walk around to take a peak at the highlights of Tacoma. It turned out to be a mini photo shoot of Ella.

Nine Months Old
Our little Ashley Mae is growing so fast (although statistics say otherwise she went from 50% to 25% in weight)! She is nine months old now and her little personality is starting to shine. In the past week she has begun to crawl, pull up and can even stand on her own for a few seconds which she is very proud of. She is a determined little girl and definitely knows what she wants and she has no problem letting you know it. She is such a happy little soul and has a smile that is contagious! We feel so blessed to be her parents!
2 1/2 Years Old
Our Ella Grace also had a milestone birthday and turned 2 1/2 this month. This seriously does not seem possible to me! She is growing up so fast. This is very evident to me based on some of the comments that she makes. Example, "Mom I want a smoothie." Me, "no smoothie but you can have apple juice." Ella, "You're insane I said I wanted a smoothie." Or when my parents were watching her and were trying to persuade her to take a nap and she responded, "no I don't want to take a nap...I am freaking out!" It seems like a daily basis that she says something and Bernie and I look at each other wondering if we really heard her correctly. She is at the age when if it isn't her idea she is not interested in doing it. So our job these days has been to make her think things are in fact HER idea. Although she can be sassy at times she also has a very sensitive, loving side. At different times though out the day will come up to me and say, "mommy I love you" with a big hug. Pretty much the best thing in the world!

At it again...
I have fallen in love with crafting these past few months and have found that it is really relaxing for me and I love that at the end of the day I feel like I accomplished something. Here is a picture of my Valentines Day table and some of the most recent crafts I have finished. The wreath is my favorite...although a little time consuming so worth it. And the LOVE letters have given me lots of ideas for other words that I can make for other holidays throughout the year. Happy crafting!
Seahawk Letdown
We spent Sunday with our friends the Lentzs and the Badurias watching the Seahawks in what turned out to be their last game of the season. The game didn't go quite like we had hoped for but it was still a fun day with friends and I got to play around with my new camera.
I made these little snowmen for the girls...chocolate milk and donuts a perfect Sunday morning.
I taught Ashley touchdown!

Can you find Piper?
My mom has always loved West Highland Terriers so when we lost our Fletcher last January who was our family pet for almost 16 years I knew one day my mom would be ready for another dog and we all knew that it too would be another Westie. My dad surprised my mom at Christmas with Piper...she is an adorable little ball of energy. My mom has a basket with two stuffed Westies in it and it seems this is Piper's favorite place to nap!

Tangled
Ella went to see Tangled with her BFF Miley. This was Ella's first movie at the theater...I think she may still be a little young but she did pretty good and stayed in her seat for over half the movie :) Luckily there were only about ten people in the whole theater and we had the whole row to ourselves. When the lights went down Ella told Miley that they needed to hold hands....so cute. These girls are growing up so fast!
Zoolights 2010
Even though Christmas has come and gone I couldn't pass up taking the family to Zoolights. Like I said before I am a sucker for Christmas lights and I knew the girls would really enjoy it this year. I was right the girls loved the pretty lights and secretly I think Bernie enjoyed himself too!
I can never get enough of this tree it is absolutely beautiful!
