We spent two days in Long Beach, WA for the international kite festival. We went a couple of years ago when Ashley was just a baby and had a great time so we decided it was time to make this journey again. The first day we just spent enjoying the beach and watching all of the kites...pretty amazing there are kites all the way down the beach, some really pretty ones, some very unique ones, and then some kid pleasers...of course Nemo was the girls favorite. Ashley seemed to be pretty tired and fell asleep on the beach so as she napped we relaxed and built sandcastles with Ella. Ella was in heaven, she could have played in the sand all day long. After dinner Ashley spiked a fever and we had to head back to the hotel she was not a happy camper. Ella and daddy went to ice cream and we watched the sunset from our room....bummer because it was AMAZING and I would have loved to have been on the beach to get a picture that could do it justice. The next day we explored the beach some more, we flew kites, drew in the sand and adventured to a nearby rock formation with some hidden caves. The girls were so excited that we could just drive the Tahoe right on the beach. We didn't get a chance to do everything we wanted in the short time we were there...I guess we have to go back :)
