Hood Canal

We headed to Hood Canal to get away and celebrate my 35th birthday with my college girlfriends. We had two houses just to fit us all. It was a great time, a perfect day on the water with friends and BBQ at night! A birthday to remember for sure!

Longshore Picnic

The longshore picnic didn't disappoint as always. The kids played games, got pony rides, ballon animals, face painting and there were giant slides and bounce houses and a lot of great food for the adults.

Fourth of July

We had a very eventful Fourth of July and birthday celebration for Ella. We started with the neighborhood parade. The girls decorated their bikes and rode through the neighborhood, this was the first year Ella rode the whole parade all by herself. After the parade we headed to our friends the Lay's who have a house on Lake Steilacoom, we spent the afternoon boating, the guys wake surfed, we BBQ'd and the kids had a blast bouncing on the trampoline, swimming, and running around. For the fireworks we headed out on the boat to the middle of the lake, the fireworks were spectacular, it was the perfect place to watch.

Preschool Graduation

We celebrated Ella's last year of preschool this year. She is going to be a big kindergartener next year although we have decided to "red shirt" her so she will stay at Sunset Christian School next year and then will do kindergarten at the public school the following year. Just an extra year I get to spend will my "baby"! She told me the other day that she is not a baby anymore but said, "its ok mom I understand you still want to call me your baby!" This little girl never ceases to amaze me with her gentle spirit she is so loving and kind hearted and I am so proud to be her mom she has brought so much joy to our lives!

Spring Break or Bust!

We headed to Sequim for a couple days to go to the Olympic Game Farm and spend some time at the beach! This year the game farm was not as thrilling to the girls as it was last year....this may have had something to do with the fact that a lama puked all over the side of the car as I was trying to feed it not even five minutes after we entered the park. The bears were the highlight as always and just as we were about to forget all about the lama puke all over the side of the car a Bison decided to use our Tahoe to sharpen his horns, we decided it was then time to head to the beach :) The beach was perfect, we went the the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge although we didn't walk the seven miles out the the end of the spit we had a great picnic lunch and fun time playing in the sand and exploring the beach. We finished off the night after dinner with some pool time. The girls and I left today and Bernie stayed to play in the Port Angeles Longshore golf tournament. When we got home and the sun was still shining we headed to the beach in Steilacoom to build sandcastles. We are so ready for the sun around here!
