Pumpkin patch...take two

Round two at the pumpkin patch and wow what a difference! We went to Schilter Farms in Lacey with the girls class from Little Scholars. They went on a hay ride, picked pumpkins, did a hay maze, had special snacks in the barn with their friends, and got to pet all the baby animals (Ashley was in heaven)!  Some of their neighbor friends met us out there too and it didn't start to rain until we were driving home...yay a success!

Maris Farms 2012

We headed to Maris Farms for the third year. You would think that since it was our third time we would have the routine down...we didn't. We went mid afternoon on Saturday...when everyone else decided to go too. We dressed in jeans and sweaters without checking the weather thinking it's October how warm can it be....how about 75 degrees! We went after the girls went to a birthday party that morning...which we learned was WAY too much to do in one day for little Ashley...she made this very clear after about 30 minutes when she started screaming, "I'm too tired to even walk!" She didn't want to take pictures, didn't want to see the animals, didn't want to wear her boots, didn't want to walk, you name it she didn't want to do it. Needless to say after $27 to get in (to a pumpkin patch) and $16 for two pumpkins we left after an hour, yes this year we were that family leaving with the screaming crying two year old! We had a few giggles and some smiles here and there but a lot more complaining than anything else. Good thing we are headed to another pumpkin patch next week and I have learned a thing or two hopefully the next trip will go a little smoother :)
