Pottery Barn Kids Knock Off

I thought the girls upstairs play room needed a little something on the wall so I added these butterflies, which are really a knock off from Pottery Barn Kids. I just couldn't spend the money when I knew I could make something similar. Now lets see how long they last on the wall before Ashley rips them down.

Rainiers Win

We took the girls to their very first Rainiers game on Friday night so we could check out the brand new stadium. We just got general admission seats and sat on the grass hill which was perfect because there is no way the girls would have stayed in their seats. We lucked out because one of Ella's friends from preschool was sitting right in front of us and the girls ran around the whole time completely entertained. We actually made it through the whole game and even watched the fireworks. Long night for the girls but so much fun we are lucky to have this awesome stadium right in our back yard!

Bye Bye Baby

Ella informed me this morning that she no longer needs her crib in her room. She has been sleeping in her big girl bed every night for the last few weeks. I have been secretly holding onto the crib because I am in denial and am not quite ready for her to be such a big girl yet. Ok, it also helps when putting her to bed at night because I always remind her that if she gets out of her big girl bed she will have to sleep in her crib :) I hope she hasn't outsmarted me already!

Date Night

We headed to Alki for date night with good friends and I think I am ready to move. The skyline, the beaches, the sunset...what more could you want?

Testing the Waters

Yesterday was so beautiful and warm and after the weather we have been having we jumped at the chance to take the boat out for the first test drive of the year. We headed to American Lake with Gramps and had a great time. Ella is such a great boater and absolutely loves being out on the water. Ashley is pretty busy and is quite the climber so she will be a handful this summer but she loved the boat too! We are so ready for summer around here!

A Very Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's day, Bernie and the girls spoiled me rotten! It started Saturday night when Bernie brought home flowers and my favorite wine. Bernie got up with the girls and made breakfast Sunday morning and I got to sleep in and get a little time to myself. Then Ella and I baked special cupcakes for Gramp's for his birthday. We spent the afternoon at Bernie's parents house with his brothers and sisters and their families and the kids spent the majority of the time in the hot tub. The girls made me stepping stones for the garden with their hand and feet prints which I absolutely LOVE and Bernie took all of my hints and got me a Kindle :) I am truly blessed and thankful for my loving husband and my two healthy, happy little girls that have given me the most important title of my life... Mom!

Ten Years Old

Our Apollo Boy is TEN years old today! When Bernie and I started dating Apollo was just one year old and as Bernie would say I fell in love with Apollo before I fell in love him. He has been such a great dog, he is so gentle with the girls and such a loving companion to all of us. I have noticed how much he has aged and slowed down recently and I know that we are probably on borrowed time with him. We celebrated his birthday like we always do, a trip to the park and a trip to Mud Bay for treats. Ella picked out a squeaky toy for him..of course it's pink but I don't think Pollo minds! Happy Birthday Buddy we love you :)

Have you thanked a Teacher today?

Since it is Teacher Appreciation week we wanted to get a little something for Ella's teachers. She has had such an amazing time at preschool this year and really looks forward to going to school. I am a little worried about summer vacation, Ella seems to go through preschool withdrawal after a four day weekend.

Ella's fabulous preschool class and fabulous teachers Miss Cindy and Miss Marci!

Happy Birthday Janelle!

I went to Ocean Shores this weekend to celebrate one of my best friend Janelle's 30th birthday! We had a great time but I think we all have come to the realization that we just can't party like we used to.
